At our first Dominican Youth Movement USA Gala, we will be honoring Sister Mary Soher, OP with the Sister Patricia Brady award!
The Sister Patricia Brady award is given to those who have dedicated themselves to extraordinary service and made contributions in furthering the traditions and charism of the Dominican Order.
Sister Mary Soher, OP is a member of the Adrian Dominican Sisters of Adrian, Michigan. She is currently the Mission Prioress of the Catherine of Siena Mission Chapter. Most recently, she served as Director of Campus Ministry for the Dominican University of California, sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of San Rafael.
Sister Mary graduated from Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas, and worked in television and media before entering the congregation in 1996. She earned a Masters of Pastoral Studies from the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, Illinois in 2004 and a Doctor of Management from Colorado Technical University, Colorado Springs, Colorado in 2013. Sister Mary also ministered at Barry University and served with the Congregation’s Formation Team. She co-directed the National Catholic Sisters Initiative which, in 2014, initiated National Catholic Sisters Week.
Sister Mary participated in the first Dominican High School preaching conference in 1999 and served as its director from 2009 to 2021. Additionally, she is a presenter at the National Preaching in Action conference and has participated in four gatherings of the International Dominican Youth Movement. She also serves as the Secretary for the DYM USA organization.
