Are you a Young Adult who is looking for a place where you can live with other young adults, pray with other young adults, and learn from one another? Do you wish to be part of a living situation where each of the participants aspires to achieve a common goal and form community around that goal? If so perhaps one of these houses is the place for you!

The first Dominican Hospitality House, a project of the Dominican Sisters of Amityville, opened in 2013. An intentional community located in NY provides an opportunity for young women and men to live with vowed religious and become immersed in the Dominican Charism. Since then, two additional houses – one in Wisconsin and the other in Chicago – are welcoming young people. An additional house in Springfield Illinois is coming soon.

Current Houses of Hospitality

A place where Young Adults (female and male) can live with vowed religious/associates/and other Young Adults and grow in their faith.

A core group of Dominican sisters is responsible for the overall running of the house including interviewing interested prospective young adults. This core group initiates new programs, openly shares their faith, and relate well to youth/young adults.

Prospective Young Adult candidates for the house need to be able and willing to make a commitment for at least a year (with a renewal each year for three years), share in the running of the house (accept chores and other duties as community members), be gainfully employed/ or pursuing a college degree, make a donation towards rent/food/etc on a monthly basis, be willing to openly share their faith, and be people of prayer and reflection.
