As a result of our participation in the National Preaching in Action Conference...
We the students at Albertus Magnus will include more collaboration with the community groups and organizations outside of our campus, to bring more people into the mission of prayer, community, and service. We also hope to partner with more clubs on campus, such as the Multicultural Club, My Amigo Club, and Black Student Union to offer more multicultural programs centered on racial justice.
We, the students of Caldwell University, will host a series of events during a week around our University’s celebration of Founders Day, to highlight the Dominican value of Preaching the Signs of the Times. We will focus on issues of climate change, racism, immigration, and human trafficking.
We at Dominican College of Blauvelt will preach with our lives by highlighting mental health awareness through an activity that provides resources and engagement opportunities.
We the students at Ohio Dominican will work with Campus Ministry and Mission and Identity to plan and implement these pro-active service-based and educational events based on one of the 7 themes of Catholic Social Teaching each semester.
We, the preachers of Dominican University of California, will implement these two initiatives: create a program that integrates Alumni with Dominican Students more often by expanding programming of the Penguin Ideals Club to be more inclusive of Alumni; and, integrate off-campus Dominican Sisters into more of our campus community through frequent gathering and possibly rosary walks or hikes.
We the students at Edgewood College commit to using our new learnings to create a program event on the justice issue of human trafficking and format the exploration to reach different audiences (for example, an in-class activity, a co-curricular program, and the foundation for a Midday Prayer theme). We are excited to work in partnership with some of our sponsoring Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa and other campus areas in crafting this contemplation and action for our community.
We, the students of Molloy College, will preach through our lived by starting programs that will build community and teach the four pillars with other students on our campus. Such programs include on-campus shrine clean-up, local outreach to nearby parishes, and Campus Ministries pop-ups on campus.
Albertus Magnus: We the students of Albertus Magnus College will focus on embracing the need for environmental sustainability on campus. We plan to raise our concerns to the appropriate people on campus and advocate for a change due to what we learned this week. We will also assist our Dominican campus ministry in various environmental based service projects throughout the upcoming year.
We also plan to create a mural on our campus where everyone can see in order to spread the message “Keep and Open Mind” which is the message this conference focused itself on. We also plan to include within the mural all the issues discussed such as hunger, immigration, and human trafficking with inspiring quotes separating them to promote change and light the fires of those back at Albertus like ours were here.Christian Carroco
Aquinas College: We the students of Aquinas College will help our campus cultivate an environment of dialogue amongst Catholics, Christians, and on Christians on Aquinas College Campus.
Barry University: We the students of Barry University will preach with our lives by beginning a CRS ambassador program on campus by the spring of 2020.
Caldwell University: We the students of Caldwell University will partner with Bridges Outreach to serve people experiencing scarcity in New Jersey
Dominican College: We the students of Dominican College will grow and strengthen our Dominican Young Adult Group this coming year.
Dominican University of California: We the students of Dominican University of California will host a monthly “Praise and Worship” this coming year.
Edgewood College: We the students of Edgewood College will commit to deepening our fellow students understanding of the Dominican call and concern for justice inspired by the Signs of the Times sessions we attended.
Molloy College: We the students of Molloy College will make appointments with Admissions and Student Affairs offices about getting new students knowledgeable about the Dominican Tradition. We will also continue to post on social media platforms & receive promotions from our media department so as to create a website to promote and explain events on campus.
Ohio Dominican: We the students of Ohio Dominican University will work with student government to develop Human Trafficking awareness by creating a Human Trafficking week. We will also continue to grow our Dominican Young Adult USA group.
Siena Heights University: We the students of Siena Heights University will begin a CRS group at Siena and present at the Common Dialogue Day about our experience at this conference.
St. Thomas Aquinas College: We the students of St. Thomas Aquinas College will finalize and grow our Dominican Young Adult USA chapter and use that voice to spread knowledge about the plight of refugees entering the United States.
Xavier University: We the students of Xavier University will promote advocacy and awareness for campus ministry, by leading various spiritual activities for the Xavier community (for ex: we would like to have an awareness day where we provide a full background on what/who campus ministry is, who is welcome, all about the Catholic faith, and the issues our community if facing (Human Trafficking, immigration, and climate change).
We also plan to provide a food pantry to assist with food insecurity on our campus. Not only is college extremely hard but it is also expensive. Having to worry about where your next meal is coming from shouldn’t be something the student concern about.

…we the students of Aquinas College will preach with our lives by using the newly uncovered preaching skills to preach the Good news in our organizations we are involved in our daily life like Dominic did.
…we the students of Barry University will preach with our lives by utilizing mission engagement, Campus Ministry and DYA in collaboration with local politicians and grassroots organizations to address the plight of detained immigrants in Miami-Dade County.
…we the students of Caldwell University will preach with our lives by will create a Dominican Week on campus exemplifying the four pillars of Dominican Spirituality engaging the wider Caldwell community in the Dominican Mission.

…we the students of Dominican University will preach with our lives by seeking to expand participation and awareness of the four pillars through our faith-based small group encounter communities.
…we the students of Dominican University of California will preach with our lives by establishing a CRS Ambassador program, work to integrate liturgical movement at our Sunday liturgies, and found a Dominican Young Adults group.

…we the students of Molloy College will preach with our lives by assisting Campus Ministries and Student Affairs with facilitating a Hunger Banquet that will incorporate the whole Molloy community (students, faculty, staff, administration) to raise awareness about food insecurity, both locally and globally. All proceeds will go to the Midnight Run which delivered food, clothing, toiletries, blankets, and backpacks to the homeless.
…we the students of Ohio Dominican University will preach with our lives by spearheading a day to beautify Ohio Dominican’s Campus by planting flowers in key locations on campus and keep the adopted areas on Sunbury Road and Airport Drive free of liter.
